![]() Human Services The Human Services Program prepares students for entry level employment positions in the social services, mental health, and addictions treatment fields and also provides opportunities for individuals who are already employed to upgrade their knowledge and skills. Program graduates work in a number of varied settings including alcoholism and drug addiction treatment, family services, parent education, social service and case management programs, youth shelters, domestic abuse programs, community health care, and juvenile corrections, to name a few. The human services field is rated among the top 20 growing job opportunities in California and in the nation. The human services programs are designed to provide technical and practical knowledge to students interested in the fields of human and community services. Professionals, paraprofessionals or volunteers working with human or community service agencies, individuals working in personnel functions, and students who desire to develop better skills for helping people will find it beneficial to enroll in this program. Students may also pursue certificate programs with emphasis on Family Studies, Addiction Studies, Co-Occurring Disorders, or Family Services.
