Allan Hancock College has announced that 581 students
were named to the Deans Honors List for the fall 2009 semester, including 233
named to the Special Honors List.
Of the 581, 196 graduated from Santa Maria Valley high schools, 72 from
Lompoc Valley high schools, 63 from Five Cities-area high schools, nine from
Santa Ynez Valley High School, one from Cuyama Valley High School and 240 from
high schools outside the college’s district, including out-of-state and foreign
high schools. Home-schooled high school graduates are listed in the
Out-of-District list.
Of the 233 students named to the Special Honors List, 52 graduated from Santa
Maria Valley high schools, 27 from Lompoc Valley, 23 from the Five Cities area,
three from Santa Ynez Valley, one from Cuyama Valley High Schol and 127 from
outside the college district.
The lists recognize students’ academic achievement at the college. For each
semester, students named to the Dean’s Honors List must complete at least 12
units with a 3.5 or better grade point average. To be named to the Special
Honors List, students must complete at least 12 units with a 4.0 grade point
average.
Total credit enrollment for the fall 2009 semester was more than 11,500
students.
